02 · The 2026 format

Two tasks. Eleven prompts. One section score.

The 2026 TOEFL Speaking section is just two tasks — Listen & Repeat and The Interview. We practise both, exactly as you'll see them on test day.

01 · 8–12s

Listen & Repeat

Seven prompts. Hear a sentence, repeat it once. Scored on Fluency, Intelligibility, and Repeat Accuracy.

02 · ~45s

The Interview

Four open questions from a video interviewer. Scored on Fluency, Intelligibility, Language Use, and Organization.

03 · Scoring engine

Per-prompt subscores. Per-task scores. One section /6.

Every prompt is scored on the same rubrics ETS uses for 2026. Listen & Repeat is judged on Fluency, Intelligibility, and Repeat Accuracy. The Interview adds Language Use and Organization. Subscores roll up to a task /6, then to a section /6.

08 · FAQ

Questions, answered.

Lab Login or Legacy Login — which one do I use?
Two doors to the same My Speaking Score, both using the current TOEFL Speaking tests and format. Lab Login opens the Speaking Lab — our latest app, with richer feedback, a multilingual AI Voice Coach, progress tracking, and twin scoring engines (Vox and ETS Scoring AI). Legacy Login opens the original app — the same TOEFL Speaking practice in an older interface, for members who joined before the Lab. New or unsure? Start with the Lab.
Is the first test really free?
Yes — your first full Speaking test is scored free, no credit card required. You'll see your band score, subscores, and top fix so you know exactly where you stand before you decide on a plan.
Is My Speaking Score affiliated with ETS or TOEFL?
No. My Speaking Score is an independent practice tool. TOEFL is a registered trademark of ETS. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by them. We do offer the ETS Scoring AI scoring engine as a paid option inside our app via a licensed integration.
Which scoring engine should I pick?
Pick Vox (1 credit/task) for detailed coaching and a Biggest Opportunity tied to your transcript. Pick ETS Scoring AI (2 credits/task) when you want a benchmark from the same automated engine used on the real TOEFL. You choose per test, right after recording.
How accurate is the AI score?
Our Vox engine is calibrated against the published iBT Speaking rubric and benchmarked on hundreds of human-rated samples. ETS Scoring AI is the official automated engine used by ETS itself. Neither is a guarantee of your exam score — they're fast, consistent practice signals.
What's a credit?
Credits are how you pay for practice. With Vox: a full Speaking test = 2 credits, a single task = 1 credit. With ETS Scoring AI: a full test = 4 credits, a single task = 2 credits. Voice Coach = 1 credit per 4 minutes. Tip: think in tests — Pro gives you about 20 full Vox tests or 10 full ETS tests a month.
Do credits expire?
Monthly plan credits refresh each billing cycle. Top-up credits never expire.
Can I cancel?
Yes — cancel anytime from the pricing page. You keep access through the end of your billing period.
